True Pub Co, is recruiting for a General Manager to lead one of our busy teams.
Our pubs attract a wide variety of people and have something for everyone; our ideal manager will add to the personal and local atmosphere that True Pub Co has become known for. We are looking for somebody who will create a friendly and productive working environment, encourage development of their team & continually asses the needs of the business.

Would serve up:
- Hold a valid Personal License (Manager) – Essential
- Experience working in a busy venue, particularly previous work in a food establishment, commercial awareness – Essential
- Good understanding of spoken and written English – Essential
- 1-2 years experience in a similar role with references available – Desirable
- Good product knowledge and willingness to learn; awareness of the current trends
- Competency to manage under pressure whilst maintaining composure in front of customers and colleagues alike
- Skills in organising and planning; responsibility for leading and managing both the team’s and their own personal working week within designated budgets
- Drive and ambition, always being standards driven to maintain and improve all operational standards and commercial targets expected by True Pub Co.
- A forward thinking approach, always staying one step ahead ensuring clear goals are set and met personally, for the pub, and for the team
- Proficiency in the necessary tasks of the GM: stock management, operational systems, compliance with health and safety protocols, quality of products behind the bar and in the kitchen, driving sales and business, customer service, troubleshooting
- A barrel full of ideas and knowing how to make them happen; implementing manager ideas into the wider sites development of True Pub Co.
- A strong relationship and collaboration with the Head Chef to maintain the pub’s reputation for great food, great atmosphere.
In return, we’d dish out:
- A competitive salary of £28,000 to £40,000 per year DOE and location of pub
- Bonus structure based on hitting targets

The Orange Tree: The Orange Tree is a traditional pub & restaurant in the heart of Havering Atte Bower just a stones throw from Bedfords Park. Located on a green plateau called Orange Tree Hill and completely surrounded by forest, this family pub has a warm, friendly atmosphere with open log fires and delicious pub food. With a wide variety of choice offered here, all taste buds are catered for.
All of this wouldn’t be possible without our Head Chefs who sit at the heart of our kitchens.

- Key experience working in a busy kitchen and ability to work under pressure whilst leading the team

- Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of food production methods
- Ability to maintain the standards expected by the company and General Manager
- Excellent hygiene, health and safety standards within the business, which are followed and developed on a daily basis, including a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Attention to detail upon completion of company paperwork with regards to H&S standards and processing delivery notes
- Consistent preparation and cooking of all food to the expected standards and dish specifications
- Delivery of quality food at all times
- Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margin

Maintenance Manager
Our enviable portfolio of locations at True Pub co. of course means there is a need for constant and careful upkeep to ensure their continued operation. As such, we are currently recruiting for a skilled Maintenance Manager for the full True Pub Co. portfolio of 19 properties.
Position: Maintenance Manager
Location: London/Greater London, across all 19 of the True Pub Co. sites
Job Type: Permanent. Full Time – 6 days per week
Hours: Vary from:
- 40 hours per week during winter months (5 – 5.5 days a week)
- 50 hours from March to October (5-6 days a week)
Salary: Salaried – to be discussed in first interview

Our Ideal Candidate for this interesting and varied role…
Would yield:
- Experience of (but not limited to) plumbing, carpentry, painting & decorating, electrical work
- Demonstrate customer service: 1 year (preferred) and maintenance experience: 2 years (preferred)
- Hold a valid driving license – Essential
- Good understanding of spoken and written English – Essential
- Enthusiasm and enjoyment to perform an array of tasks: responsibilities will comprise everything from basic maintenance to setting up of awesome events
- Confidence in dealing with emergencies, unexpected problems and repairs – independent troubleshooting
- Mapping out own daily schedule and prioritising works as appropriate across all sites
- Thinking for themselves; undertaking reactive and preventative maintenance on a day-to-day basis
- Identifying and carrying out winter maintenance and refurbishment work across all interiors and exteriors of every pub
- Installation, repair and upkeep of infrastructure, equipment, furniture, appliances, hardware etc.
- Working closely and communicating effectively with all pub managers/company directors to meet their varied needs and requests
- Confidence and ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility for completing the job to the utmost standard
- Oozing cool-headedness: ability to remain calm under pressure and work through to resolve the issue in hand
- Managing contractors when required and monitoring their standards of work
- Demonstrate planning skills, craftsmanship, independence & team work, attention to detail
